Have you ever had a thought that turned into a disaster?
You know how it works. A thought enters your mind. It elevates into a story and before you know it, you are acting in your own drama.
Mm hmm. Im guilty.
Ever since Ive been back, my thoughts have been fighting each other. Imagine going from sleeping in and spending $3 a day on ALL your meals to restless sleep and passing on a $10 acai bowl because…that’s too darn expensive for blended fruits with granola on top! (shakes head) Adjusting from long term travel is no joke honey.
The good news is that all is well now. A week ago, I promised myself that I would have the best week ever. My daily intention was simple: keep my vibrations high. Maintain positive thoughts. Keep a good attitude.
Did crap come my way? Yes and when it did I focused on my guiding thought:
“How can I be better than last weeks version of myself?
Some days the answer was “workout for 30 more minutes, ” or “don’t reschedule this meeting.” And on other days it was “this is your last glass of wine girl.”
Any improvement from who I was and what I did last week was progress. Period.
Some moments almost turned into shitty days, but I caught myself every time and went back to my guiding thought.
As you prepare for your week (or maybe you are already in the middle of it) ask yourself:
“How can I be better than last weeks version of myself?”
Be conscious of this thought everyday and intend to have a badass week. YOU will always be your greatest competition. You are the only one standing in the way of who you want to become and what you want to accomplish.
Compare yourself to yourself. Don’t compare yourself to those around you. But if you find yourself doing it anyway- be grateful for how far you have come. And, if you need extra support, try this.
